TERMING them bogus, the state cancelled over 11.6 lakh ration cards over the last year. Since then, there have been at least six starvation related deaths.Two more starvation deaths have been reported from Jharkhand within a span of ten days. The state had witnessed four suspected starvation deaths between September and December last year. ENVIRONMENTAL activists, farmers, advocates and political parties join hands in Tiruvannamalai.The project to develop a six/eight-lane greenfield highway connecting Chennai and Salem has drawn flak from farmers and environment activists in Tiruvannamalai. This is a big victory for the Basti Suraksha Manch led by CPI(ML) Red Star comrades which was struggling consistently for last two decades raising this demand.
