ABM CALLS FOR CAMPAIGN TO PROTECT ADIVASIS' RIGHT TO LAND

The Central Committe meeting of Adivasi Bharat Mahasabha (ABM) was held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh on 29 and 30 June 2019. Comrades from Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana attended the meeting. The national situation after the elections, the order of the Supreme Court order on Adivasis’ land, the Forest Rights Act of 1927 and the situation in different states were discussed in the meeting. Following decisions were taken in the meeting - Form ABM committees in all states; to conduct membership campaign and to collect affiliation fee;  To organise dharna, before state assembly, and give memorandum in various states from July 15 to July 22 regarding the order of the Supreme Court, Forest Rights Act of 1927. The details should be sent to the center.  To develop solidarity with all the ongoing movements in various states which are associated with the Sal Leaf Movement and the like. ABM will participate, organise seminars and form unity with all the anti-displacement movements going on against the Power-Grid and land acquisition projects.

The first E Bulletin, a tri-monthly bulletin of ABM was published and released in English and Hindi. The next Bulletin will be released in Hindi and English in the month of September. ABM will fight against all Human Rights violations and extend solidarity with all the ongoing Human Rights struggles.  A nationwide strike, demonstration and memorandum program will be held from July 15 to July 22, 2019 against the increasing oppression on Adivasis and for the rights of Adivasis on land, forest and water.
