Severely Condemn State Terror that Killed 20 Adivasis in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh
The dastardly and cold blooded murder of 20 adivasis including children and women by the CRPF forces on 29 June is yet another example of the intensification of the state terror in Bastar districts. In the name of suppressing the Maoists, adivasis are targeted for genocide to terrorise them to submission to create condition for the ever intensifying loot of the natural resources in the area including the rich iron ore from Beladilla by the corporate houses and forest mafias. While the huge police, special police and CRPF forces engaged in the area are attacking and killing the adivasis alleging their complicity with the Maoists, none of the corporate houses and mafias who are paying huge sums to Maoists to facilitate illegal mining and other unlicensed loot, like laying the 204 kms long pipe line by the ESSAR company are not even touched. The ESSAR man arrested while handing over the money is allowed bail and now made a prosecution witness. The game of the BJP government in the state and of the UPA government at centre is clear. They utilize the anarchist Maoist actions as a cover to terrorize the adivasis while allowing the illegal mining and plunder of natural resources and forest produces. The political leaderships, the bureaucrats and officers of the state forces are immensely benefitted from this. This is nothing but state terror, most barbarous and heinous.
The CPI (ML) demands immediate withdrawal of the CRPF and other special forces deployed in the area, stopping the Salwa Judum in all forms, punishment of all uniformed men indulging in attacks on adivasis, arrest of the agents of Essar and other companies paying huge sums to Maoists and implementation of the Constitutional provision for Autonomous Area Councils in the areas where adivasis are in majority with full rights provided under Sixth Schedule.
CPI (ML) demands that the militarization of the area should be stopped by withdrawing the military training camp at Jagdalpur and the so-called 'Jungle Warfare College' from Kanker.
It is evident that the adivasis were murdered cold-bloodedly on 29th June like numerous similar killings in the past. CPI (ML) demands compensation to all relatives of the victims and punishment of all those responsible for it.
