IN SPITE of the orders issued by the Odisha government to throw out the resisting people and to allot 1500 acres of land to POSCO to start the work, deploying huge police force to implement this prestige project of both central and state governments, the villagers organized round the hour agitations to stop the displacement. The resistance is growing in intensity and all attempts to tire out the people and defeat their spirit through false propaganda. The POSCO Pratirodh Sangram Samiti has declared that at any cost the resistance will be intensified. It has cautioned the people against the vile propaganda of the government to dub it as a ‘Maoist’ led struggle in order to drown it in blood. As the anarchist actions of Maoists are increasingly utilized by the state forces to suppress the people’s movements, the CPI (ML) state committee, while extending full support and continuing the participation in the struggle has condemned the barbarous policies of central and state governments which are treating the people of the affected villages as enemy people and launching brutal attacks on them to serve the interests of a foreign corporate company. It is an act of treason against the people of our country.
