THE one year long campaign observing the centenary of October Revolution culminated with numerous programs at a number of places on 7th November. It was a great occasion of evaluation of the complex experience of the 100 years of revolution and reformism. These programs including an evaluation of the reasons for the severe setbacks suffered by the international communist movement has given the inspiration for taking lessons from it to create new Octobers, to create a new of wave of revolutionary upsurges. Lenin could mobilize the revolutionary masses under the Bolsheviks and make the October Revolution successful by uncompromisingly struggling against the Mensheviks, Narodniks and all other alien trends, by developing Marxist theory and practice according to concrete situation. Present social realities and political challenges once again underlines the significance of waging uncompromising ideological-political struggles against all alien trends, developing the theory and practice of Marxism-Leninism according to present realities, building powerful Bolshevik style communist parties, developing class struggle in all fields, and mobilizing the masses for revolution by overthrowing the hegemony of global imperialist system and its compradors.

It was based on this message, with the perspective of advancing “independent communist assertion” these programs were organized with the call of marching forward towards revolution. It has given a new fillip to the movement, to both ICOR, which recently held its third World Conference, and to the Party at all India level. The discussions on lessons from the experience of last one hundred years of international communist movement shall be continued more vigorously in the coming days linking with the task of developing Marxist-Leninist teachings on theory and practice according to present realities.

For us these year-long programs on centenary of October Revolution was not just a period of celebration, as the reformists of all hues tried to depict. For the revolutionary forces it was an occasion for self- introspection a period for evaluating the experience of the international communist movement during last 100 years, and taking lessons from them. For us it was a period for developing the Marxist-Leninist theory and practice, seeking truth from facts and according to present challenges raised by the changes in the concrete conditions. Based on this approach let us march forward so that the revolutionary movement can create a new wave of upsurges. Intensify Struggles to Demolish Global Imperialist System and its Compradors and Lackeys! Socialism is the only Alternative Possible!

The Communist movement in India has a history of almost a century after the salvos of October Revolution in Russia brought Marxism-Leninism to the people of India who were engaged in the national liberation struggle against the British colonialists. It is a complex and chequered history.
