Modi's 15th August Speech: Pack of Lies and Double Talk

03 September 2017
PRIME MINISTER Modi gave his 15th August independence day speech from the ramparts of Red Fort when under his regime the RSS Parivar is working overtime to take globalization initiated by Congress to its ugliest, most brutal limits, enslaving the country to neo-colonial slavery. In place of one East India Company, hundreds of MNCs and their accomplices, the native corporates, are looting the country, creating a barbarous situation which is devastating the nature and impoverishing the people. The ruling system has become so insensitive to living condition of the masses and so corrupt as reflected in numerous incidents like the murder of hundreds of children at Gorakhpur. At the same time, these acts of treason are covered up by unleashing pseudo-patriotic fervor, threatening to label all those who oppose Modi’s policies and RSS dictates as anti-nationals.

Under this pseudo-patriotism, India is made an accomplice of US imperialism led by Trump, and its relations dangerously worsening with all neighbouring countries. What is happening under Modi regime is just opposite to the dreams of the independence struggle, of Bhagat Singh like martyrs and Ambedkar like renaissance leaders. What is imposed under pseudo-patriotism is corporate-fascist raj. It is in this situation, the 15th August, the day of transfer of power to kala sahebs, has become a day of betrayal, day of treason, calling for the intensification of the struggle for people’s democracy, social justice and equality.

The Communist movement in India has a history of almost a century after the salvos of October Revolution in Russia brought Marxism-Leninism to the people of India who were engaged in the national liberation struggle against the British colonialists. It is a complex and chequered history.
