Cultural Activitist Shanmukhan Pulappatta is No More

NOTED revolutionary cultural activist of Kerala and founder member of Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF), Shanmukhan Pulappatta is no more. After prolonged illness he died on 20th August at Cochin, Kerala.

Shanmukhan Pulappatta was a scholar writer, critique, and translator. He was born in the year1952 in the village Pulappatta in Palakad district, Kerala. He was the head of Hindi department at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Since last three decades, he stood firmly with the Revolutionary Cultural movement. He was always part of the people’s movement to the maximum possible extent. He was associated with Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF). He has played a leading role in formation of Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF) at Trichur All India Conference in April 2012. Prior to that, he has attended All India Revolutionary Cultural meet at Jabalpur and Lucknow on October 1996 and December 1996 respectively. He was part of the editorial team of English organ of RCF “Revolt”. He completed his Doctoral on progressive writer Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh. He wrote many books on Muktibodh’s literature and other authors of the progressive cultural stream of Hindi and Urdu literature.
